Over the years, the Tuesday of the tournament has become the beloved “Thiemstag” on which Dominic Thiem entered the Erste Bank Open main draw. This is also the case for his last appearance in Vienna. In addition, there will be a firework display of potential top matches both in the Stadthalle and at Heumarkt.

The highlight of the day from an Austrian perspective is of course Dominic Thiem's appearance. Thiem will face the Italian Luciano Darderi, the current No. 42 in the world, on the center court of the Vienna Stadthalle no earlier than 6 pm. A victory for Thiem would be a huge surprise, but the young Italian has also been anything but successful in recent months. The audience in the sold-out Stadthalle will definitely be behind the Lower Austrian like a wall.

Order of Play

The match between the German Jan-Lennard Struff and the tournament's No. 2, Alex de Minaur (AUS), kicks off the action already at 2 pm, followed by crowd favorite Frances Tiafoe (5) against the Brit Cameron Norrie. After the Thiem match, Japan's star Kei Nishikori and the tournament's no. 7, Jake Draper from Great Britain, will play the final match on center court.
