ATP Tour Official Tournament

After last year's great success, the virtual reality tennis tournament is returning in 2024 as part of the Erste Bank Open. LAOLA1, in cooperation with e|motion, VR Motion-Learning and the Austrian Tennis Association (ÖTV), is once again organizing the tournament and is expecting around 2,000 participants from all over the world. The play-offs start on September 30 and run until October 25, 2024. The two best players in the tournament will be invited to the grand final at the Wiener Stadthalle, where they will compete against each other live on the prestigious stage of the Erste Bank Open.

This year, the tournament is even more accessible for all fans: the final matches will be played in the “Official Tennis Experience”, which was built to mark the 50th anniversary of the Erste Bank Open. This area in the Studio F of the Wiener Stadthalle offers fascinating insights into the history of Austrian tennis and is open to anyone with a ticket from October 9 to November 3 - even without a ticket to the Erste Bank Open. Visitors can experience the VR tournament up close and learn about Austria's tennis history at the same time.

VR Erste Bank Open

Once again this year, the matches will be played on the VR app Tennis Esports from award-winning developer VR Motion-Learning. Participants only need VR glasses (from Meta Quest 2 to PRO) and the Tennis Esports app to play from anywhere in the world. The top two players in the ranking will qualify for the grand final in the Stadthalle and will then play for victory at the Erste Bank Open. The winner will be rewarded with a wildcard for the Virtual Reality Austrian Championship (VRAC), which will take them straight to the next major VR tennis event.
